Simple Tenses

The simple tenses, formed using the "indefinite aspect", are often also called the "indefinite tenses" because they do not inform us whether the activity is finished or on-going.

  • I walk my dog every day.

A verb in the indefinite aspect inform us that the beginning or ending of an activity is unknown or unimportant to the meaning of the sentence.
