Present Perfect Continous or Present Continous

Hi, I'd like to know whether the following sentences are both correct;

I've been phoning the hospital all morning but they aren't answering.

I've been phoning the hospital all morning but the haven't been answering.

The second sentence sounds unnatural to me, but I can't tell you if it's incorrect for sure.
