Past Perfect USE 2a + Fish or Fishes?

On your page dealing with the Past Perfect tense ( http://www.englishtenseswithcartoons.com/page/tenses/past_perfect ) I don't understand why this example is correct:
"If I hadn't taken my keys from the drawer, I would be able to get into my house."
I think it should look like "If I hadn't taken my keys from the drawer, I WOULDN'T be able to get into my house."
Please correct me if I'm wrong!
I've got another (non-related) question if you talk about more than one fish which is correct way to describe them? "Fish" or "Fishes"? :)
I've already seen both forms on the web...
Thanx for your reply in advance!
